Processing Sales and Programming SpecialistResponsibilities:
Interpret and understand customer-supplied drawings and, using CAD software, translate those drawings into flat patterns.
Create usable CAD drawings starting from customer-supplied sketches or descriptions.
Recommend or select materials (type, thickness, etc.) in the absence of a customer-defined specification.
Make an appropriate choice of processing machinery, for example laser vs. plasma cutting, in light of the material and customer-required dimensions, finishes, etc.
Provide estimates to the sales department for the material usage and the processing time for the sales department’s use in preparing a customer quote OR Develop a completed customer quote and provide the quote to the customer
Write, and release to production, processing sales orders arising from quotes
Requirements:
A minimum of two years’ experience using AutoCad and SolidWorks software packages.
Experience doing “take-offs” in steel, other metals, glass, or other construction materials from drawing packages would be valuable and relevant experience.
Experience doing cost estimates in materials supply, manufacturing operations, or construction businesses would be valuable and relevant experience.
Prior experience with metals processing or industrial manufacturing – a fab shop, manufacturing operation, machine shop, ag shop, or the like – would be a big plus.
Must be organized, thorough, and with a high degree of attention to detail.
Should possess a mindset and commitment for continuous improvement. Willing and able to learn from experiences and mistakes.
Work in an efficient and timely manner to meet customer needs and to maintain department turnaround times.
Must be comfortable working with and communicating with a wide variety of individuals inside and outside the company.
Prior experience using NC software would be a plus.
