Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a "Materials and Fuels Complex" (MFC) Facility and System Engineering Department Manager to work in our Facility and System Engineering department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every Friday off. You will report to the Division Director.INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities, and infrastructure, and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design, development, and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.Responsibilities Include:Provide strategic leadership to the MFC Facility and System Engineering Department that supports MFC facilities and their operation.Establish engineering requirements and verifies that the engineering design and end product meet the functional and operational requirements.Apply Engineering Management System procedures per INL Conduct of Engineering process with integration of INL Engineering standards.Represent INL with external entities to promote engineering excellence and best practices.Manage the budget provided for training, professional development, equipment and purchases for the success of the organization.Responsible for human capital activities across the department.Key functions of the role are: Implement five functions of management: organizing, planning, staffing, leading, and assessing/improving Provide strategic direction for cognizant areas of responsibility Apply Engineering Management System procedures per INL Conduct of Engineering process with integration of INL Engineering standards Represent INL with external entities to promote engineering excellence and best practices Manage the work priorities for the department to help complete the INL mission. Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Engineering procedures and standards. Ensure that department work is performed technically correct and to high engineering standards in accordance with established processes Develop department training and qualification programs Manage the departmental budgeting and work planningMinimum Requirements:

Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.

Minimum BS and 8 years of relevant experience or MS and 6 years relevant experience.

You will be asked to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Engineering

Professional Engineering license

Previous experience with Department of Energy nuclear facilities and either commercial or naval nuclear experienceJob Information:

Salary Grade: MR0300 - 240 ($143,124 - $243,312)
