I. Title: PowerSchool Administrator / ISEE Coordinator

II.QUALIFICATIONS:

a. High School Diploma

b. College degree in computer science, information systems or related areas is desirable, or equivalent work experience.

c. Minimum 2-years’ experience managing a PowerSchool student information system and PowerTeacher Pro gradebook.

Must have at least 1-year of student information systems (SIS) experience and 2-years of database administration/management experience.

i.Advanced SQL, scripting, HTML, and reporting skills. Oracle and web development experience desirable.

d.1-2 years of experience with Idaho’s State Reporting Manager (SRM) and Idaho System of Educational Excellence (ISEE) desirable.

e. Academic software knowledge and experience (LMS, Content Management Systems, etc.).

f. Ability to work with teaching and support staff.

g. Experience with learning support and student assessment systems and/or other types of data analysis systems.

h. Systems administrative experience with teacher/student/parent communication systems.

i. Excellent customer service and communication skills.

j. Strong organizational analytical, and problem-solving skills.

k. Knowledge of K12 curriculum structures and student records management issues.

l. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.

m. Experiences in most or all the following is preferred:

-General knowledge of business department procedures & practices.

-Tyler ERP Pro Accounting Software

-Idaho System for Educational Excellence (ISEE.) data generation and submission.

-Federal Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) data generation and submission.

-Data Analysis/Visualization Tools such as Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services

-Database administration best practices

-Compliance data analysis

-Various application software: MS Office, etc.

n. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

III. REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

IV. JOB GOALS:

To support the delivery of School District 91’s written, taught, tested, and reported curriculum, and contribute to maximizing student achievement.

To Integrate and manage D91’s student records (SIS) and learning management systems (LMS). To facilitate the technical administration of D91’s LMS and student records management systems. To facilitate and manage data integrations between D91’s student records management systems and third-party applications. To facilitate the administration, data gathering, and submission of the district’s compliance data. To provide training and support as needed to school staff regarding compliance data requirements. To install, troubleshoot, and help maintain software, and provide training and support to school staff regarding the uses and maintenance of the student records and learning management systems. To troubleshoot related hardware problems.

V. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain the current PowerSchool and PowerTeacher Pro environments, including user accounts and security groups/roles, and recommend improvements to processes and workflows according to PowerSchool/vendor best practices.

2. Install, troubleshoot, and perform/facilitate maintenance on all LMS and student records systems on servers and workstations as needed. Maintain and utilize established professional services as they relate to the systems supported.

3 Plan and execute basic and advanced database functions as required/related to systems operations

4. Perform necessary housekeeping tasks such as creating accounts, granting privileges, working with the IT OPS SysNet team to perform necessary backups, etc. as needed and train other potential responsible staff for such tasks.

5. Supervise, facilitate and/or support the fulfillment of student data project requests.

6. Organize and prepare system software documentation, procedural documentation, and operations instructions for purposes of promoting efficient utilization of SIS applications.

7. Assist with and/or facilitate direct support for class scheduling, issues with GPAs, honor roll, graduation requirements, and other student ranking systems in combination with the SIS IT District Registrar and applicable district-wide staff.

8. Occasionally attend local, regional, state, or national meetings/trainings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.

9. Complete preventative and end of year maintenance and data storage tasks of related software.

10. Models use of said software applications in support of teaching and administrative tasks.

11. Support data analysis, student assessments and grading, and accreditation reporting needs.

12. Coordinate all work with District Technology staff, and other student information systems team members.

13. Lead the research, analysis, requirements, design, testing and implementation of new PowerSchool-related features, customizations, and add-on modules (SLAs, Parent Portal, Schoology, etc.).

14. Knows and supports District policies regarding technology integration, such as standardization and network use protocol, to provide unified and effective support for technology.

15. Communicate with Idaho State or Federal personnel, district staff, and other applicable stakeholders for purposes of collecting, correcting, and facilitating compliance data submissions.

16. Provide support regarding compliance data, best practices, and student information systems, whether by telephone, e-mail, in-person, and/or screen sharing (e.g. WebEx).

17. Perform routine file management tasks, including transferring, loading, archiving, and converting data for purposes of managing, maintaining, and securing ISEE. data.

18. Facilitate completion of state and federal compliance data submissions, identify/resolve problems with applicable stakeholders (i.e Technology, Business, or HR personnel) and report progress to the supervisor as applicable.

19. Leverage analytics/reporting tools, PowerSchool & Tyler ERP Pro queries, and/or exports to respond to inquiries and requests for data.

20. Organize and prepare district specific ISEE documentation, procedural documentation, and operations instructions for purposes of promoting efficient and correct utilization and submission of data.

21. Generate and upload data for purposes of meeting compliance reporting requirements.

22. Attend local, regional, state, or national meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform data reporting functions.

23. Read, interpret, and apply technical information for purposes of facilitating compliance data submissions.

24. Assist other personnel in the completion of their work activities specific to compliance data, and student information systems as needed.

25. Support district staff with compliance data related questions or issues.

26. Understand and troubleshoot GPAs, honor roll, and other student ranking systems.

27. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

28. Has regular and predictable in office attendance.

VII.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position is scheduled for 8 hours a day, 254 days per year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule Range of Grade 14 to 15 ($25.88 to $29.59/hr.) DOE.
