Pay rate is negotiable based on experience. We offer 401k, medical insurance, paid holidays and paid vacation as part of your compensation.
Typically each employee will work 45 hours per week. Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5pm . Don’t expect to have to work weekends.
No degree or certification required. Experience with potato equipment is a huge plus but we are willing to train the right candidate.
The Rexburg, Idaho location of Logan Farm Equipment and Tristeel Manufacturing Is looking for another mechanic/metal fabricator to join our team in our shop. Responsibilities vary but you would primarily be repairing potato equipment. This also includes mounting new and used truckbeds and quality checking new equipment. We sell and service new Logan Potato handling equipment like truckbeds, pilers, scoopers and conveyors. We rebuild, assemble, test, repair and refurbish all brands of used potato farm equipment. This includes Pilers, Scoopers, conveyors, bulk beds, dammar dikers, seed cutters/treaters, shredders, harvesters and windrowers. Must be able to weld proficiently. Welding is only 10% of this job. The other 90% is knowing how to identify the problem areas of potato equipment and fix it right. We will buy used farm equipment, assess what belting, chain, sprockets, structural and electronics need to be repaired for the machine to be in good working condition.
Your tasks will vary from day to day. Very seldom are you going to be doing the same thing today that you did yesterday. There is no manual or instructions for fixing used equipment. You will be required to think about the best way to perform the repair safely and efficiently. You will need to be able to take instruction from the more senior crew members for what the best process may be. You will also be expected to offer insight and ideas that you think could help the process along.
