Accounts Payable Specialist

Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a temporary to hire position with one of our local clients! The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the invoice processing workflow, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience with iPayables and Great Plains software, as well as a strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, decentralized work environment.

Process invoices accurately and efficiently using iPayables software.

Code invoices with appropriate general ledger account codes and cost centers.

Review coding completed by other team members for accuracy and completeness.

Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.

Reconcile vendor statements and address any outstanding balances or discrepancies.

Assist in month-end close procedures, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger.

Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Manager and other team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Maintain organized electronic and physical records of invoices, payments, and supporting documentation.

Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or related financial role.

Proficiency in iPayables and Great Plains software strongly preferred but will be able to teach if technically inclined

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.t

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
