Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Tree Care Climber/Foreman to lead and perform tree care operations across residential neighborhoods and commercial properties throughout Boise and the Treasure Valley. This hybrid role includes both hands-on climbing duties and supervisory responsibilities. As a Foreman, you will oversee daily operations, ensure job site safety and efficiency, and act as the primary point of contact for clients and crew members on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Climbing & Tree Care (Residential & Commercial):
Perform technical tree climbing, pruning, cabling, and safe removals using ropes, saddles, aerial lifts, and rigging equipment.
Navigate Boise’s diverse urban tree canopy, including large cottonwoods, maples, pines, and ornamental species.
Assess tree health and recommend proper pruning or removal techniques in accordance with ANSI A300 and ISA standards.
Operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and other power tools safely.
Maintain a clean and organized job site; ensure debris is removed and property is left in excellent condition.
Foreman Duties:
Lead a crew of 2–5 members on residential and commercial job sites.
Delegate tasks and monitor safety, quality, and productivity throughout the workday.
Review daily work orders before mobilizing.
Communicate with clients before, during, and after the job to ensure satisfaction and clarity.
Provide on-site training and mentorship for junior climbers and ground crew.
Submit daily logs, timecards, and equipment reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of professional tree climbing experience (residential & commercial).
1+ year of experience in a crew leader, foreman, or supervisory role.
Strong working knowledge of industry safety procedures and equipment.
Valid Idaho Driver’s License (CDL Class B preferred).
ISA Certified Arborist or Certified Treeworker Climber Specialist preferred.
Able to read and interpret work orders, maps, and aerial diagrams.
Ability to work in Boise’s seasonal conditions (including cold winters and hot summers).
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights of 60–100 ft.
Capable of standing, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
Tolerant of all-weather conditions typical to Boise and surrounding areas.
