Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting and Repair: Identifying and fixing issues with reefer units, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system problems.
Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks like cleaning, oil changes, and component replacements to ensure efficient operation.
Preventative Maintenance: Implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prevent future issues.
Component Replacement: Replacing worn or damaged parts, including compressors, condensers, and other system components.
Installation: Installing new reefer units or components.
Inspection: Inspecting reefer units for proper functioning and temperature control.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and work performed.
Communication: Communicating with dispatchers, drivers, and other personnel regarding unit status and repairs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Mechanical Aptitude: A good understanding of mechanical principles and troubleshooting techniques.
Refrigeration Knowledge: Familiarity with refrigeration cycles, refrigerants, and related components.
Electrical Knowledge: Some knowledge of electrical systems and components.
Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to find solutions to problems.
Physical Stamina: Some physical labor may be involved in maintenance and repair.
Certification: EPA Section 608 certification or similar certifications related to refrigeration.
