Prioritizing working Forman willing and able to Travel week to week at times for project in and out of town.

The Majority of our work is in the Treasure Valley also have frequent work out of town, in the Magic Valley and East ID.

Job Description:

The Foreman Carpenter plays a crucial role in construction projects by overseeing and managing carpentry activities on site. This position requires a combination of hands-on carpentry skills, leadership abilities, and the capacity to coordinate and supervise a team of journeyman, apprentices and laborers. The Foreman Carpenter ensures that carpentry work is executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Supervision and Leadership

Lead, direct, and mentor a team of journeyman, apprentices, and laborers.

Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and monitor the team’s progress.

Foster a collaborative and productive work environment that prioritizes safety and teamwork.

2.Carpentry Expertise

Perform skilled carpentry tasks such as framing, installation, finishing, modifications, and repairs.

Ensure the carpentry work meets high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

3.Project Coordination

Collaborate closely with General Contractors, Project Manager, Subcontractors, and your respective team members to coordinate work activities around the expected scope of work.

Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications accurately.

4.Scheduling and Time Management

Develop and manage work schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and schedule.

Monitor progress and adjust as needed to meet project deadlines.

5.Resource Management

Manage labor allocation, equipment usage, and material procurement effectively.

Coordinate the delivery of materials and maintain proper inventory levels.

6.Quality Control

Conduct regular inspections to verify that carpentry work adheres to project specifications and quality standards.

Address any deviations or deficiencies promptly and implement approved corrective measures.

7.Safety Oversight

Enforce and promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA safety regulations and protocols.

Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards on the construction site.

8.Communication

Maintain clear and open communication with General Contractor, the Project Manager, Subcontractors, and your respective team members.

Provide regular updates on work progress, challenges, and solutions.

9.Problem Solving

Identify construction related challenges and make informed decisions to overcome them.

Collaborate with the team to develop practical and efficient solutions to unexpected issues.

10.Documentation

Keep accurate records of daily activities, work accomplishments, additional work outside of scope, and any incidents.

Assist in preparing reports, documentation, project photos, and project records as required.

Skills / Qualifications:

Extensive experience in carpentry and construction, with a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.

Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a diverse team.

Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.

Excellent communication skills for effective coordination and information sharing.

Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to create a safety conscious work environment.

Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and adapt to changing circumstances.

Time management skills to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality workmanship.

Required Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED equivalent

5+ years of experience as a carpenter
