Research and Development Lab Technician and Administrative Assistant
Under the direction of the Product Development Manager, this position assists R&D developers and food technologists in daily activities and lab maintenance.
Responsibilities:
ï Creating tentative ingredient declarations, tentative 100g nutrition and nutrition facts panels.
ï Entering data into Formulator for raw materials and finished goods.
ï Creating RACC worksheets for determining serving sizes.
ï Transferring data from formulator into Sage.
ï Assist with product launch process.
ï Making blends as assigned; including but not limited to baking mixes, breadcrumb, panko, etc.
ï Assisting with R&D projects like making French fries, sizing crumbs, etc.
ï Put retains away in orderly manner.
ï Keep ingredient carts and containers filled.
ï Keep R&D labs, office, and conference room clean
o Daily activities include: temperature check on freezers, washing dishes, sweeping, wiping down tables and cabinets, taking out trash, checking/filling paper towel dispensers, keeping blenders clean and ready for use, and organizing shelves.
o Weekly activities include: mopping, cleaning conference room (bull pen), and cleaning out fridges.
o Based on use: cleaning panko boxes, changing fryer oil, and stocking shipping supplies.
ï Complete monthly moisture verification log.
ï Bi-annually thoroughly checking R&D lab ingredients for expired products.
ï Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Technical skills with computers.
Self-starter with experience in dry blending preferred.
Willingness to learn.
