Maintenance Tech - Swing Shift

Fresca Mexican Foods is a premier manufacturer of tortillas, wraps, and chips. Our SQF-certified world-class facility is located in Caldwell, Idaho. For 45 years, Fresca has been manufacturing and supplying our customers with the highest quality products using the finest ingredients and time-tested formulations, manufacturing processes, and freezing techniques. Today, Fresca produces about 4 million tortillas daily, employs over 200 full-time employees, and serves customers worldwide.

Compensation:

Base Pay: $19.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience

Shift differential = $3.00 per hour (paid for hours worked between 5:30 PM – 5:30 AM)

Work schedule:

Tuesday through Saturday.

2:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M.

Training schedule:

Monday through Friday.

6:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.

Some weekend work may be required during the training period.

Position:

Analyzes mechanical and electrical equipment issues and takes corrective action

Makes necessary equipment adjustments to maintain maximum production efficiency and quality

Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled and repairs and/or documents other equipment issues observed

Logs repairs and PMs appropriately in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Inspects and tests production equipment after repairs, changeovers, preventative maintenance and extended downtime

Performs maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment while production is running continuously

Works closely with production staff to help ensure the safety of all employees

Communicates to the team recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken, quality issues, and actively provides solutions

Continuously communicates with the production operators and supervisors to ensure maximum equipment productivity and product quality

Establishes positive working relationships with all co-workers to maximize teamwork

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to utilize schematics while troubleshooting equipment issues

High level of mechanical aptitude

Basic electrical skills

Ability to follow directions well and work independently within a team environment

High attention to detail

Ability to work quickly and methodically

Strong work ethic

Good organizational skills

Ability to work in a safe manner

Ability to read, write and speak English

Ability to work overtime, nights and/or weekends, as needed

Preferred Qualifications :

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience with hydraulics and pumps

Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers

Experience with Good Manufacturing (GMP) and/or Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices

HVAC experience

Ammonia refrigeration experience
