Microchip has an opportunity for an Oregon Licensed General Journeyman Electrician in the Site Services department at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon on the Compressed Back Day shift (Thu, Fri, Sat, (W)) 6:00a-6:15p). This position will support semiconductor manufacturing at Fab 4.

It's true that Oregon has 4 seasons, and not all of them are sunny, but the weather is generally mild throughout the year, and Gresham is convenient to outdoor activities throughout the Pacific Northwest as well as everything that nearby Portland and Seattle have to offer!

Essential Functions

Install, maintain and troubleshoot facilities electrical equipment.

Work from drawings and one line schematics.

Must be competent with 480/277V, 120/208V, VFDs, interfacing with building controls systems. Experience with 12.5kV preferred.

Must be experienced in lockout/tag out procedures, arc flash requirements and general industrial safety procedures.

Must be competent with operations of UPS systems.

Must be able to work as a team and/or independently with limited supervision in a safe manner.

In addition to electrical duties, candidate will support operation and maintenance of all building systems associated with operations of two ISO class 4 semiconductor manufacturing facilities.

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Job Requirements

State of Oregon General Journeyman Electrical License - State of Idaho General Journeyman Electrical License

High school graduate or GED equivalent.

5+ years of industrial electrical experience with 2+ years in a semiconductor manufacturing environment required.

Strong background in troubleshooting and problem solving of industrial electrical systems and controls.

Team player. Ability to work with shift members and customers to identify and solve electrical issues.

Ability to work on projects with little or no direction, identifying what needs to be done and executing work in a timely fashion.

Must be competent in Windows based business computer software (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Be familiar with EZ Power electrical tracking software

Special Requirements

Must be ERT certifiable.

Must have manual dexterity, hearing and visual acuity (color distinction, peripheral vision and depth perception).

Critical Physical Requirements

Able to lift 20 lbs; push, pull approx. 50 lbs; carry 20 lbs; sit 60%; stand 20%; walk 20%; must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, hearing, talking, seeing. Work environment could include slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors.
