This position fabricates and works on structural metal products.ResponsibilitiesAssists in the operation of fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, laser, and sawHammers & chips metal work-pieces from metal sheets Grinds/sands metal work-pieces to remove imperfections Identify work-pieces, tag and load onto appropriate cartVerifies conformance of work-piece to specificationsConfers with department lead or supervisor to resolve fabrication problems Safely operate hoist Safely operate lift table Safely operate a forklift upon company certification Pay careful attention and use care when handling machinery and equipment Performs other duties that may be assignedRegular and predictable attendance is required QualificationsEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction; Demonstrates ability to measure in feet, inches, and thousandths using tape measures and precision tools. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to operate hand tools & air powered tools.Ability to operate hoist.
