Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District has an immediate opening for a Ditch Rider. This is a full time year round position. You MUST live within the southwest Nampa area. A ditchrider conducts the delivery of irrigation water as requested according to the water rights. Operates gates, checks, turnouts, and waste ways to regulate water flow. Experience with outside work, heavy equipment usage, and previous work with welding and cutting tools is desirable. Accepting applications: Mon thru Thu 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Closed Fridays. Summer Hours: April to October
This position requires a variable time commitment during water season. You may be subject to being on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; due to the unknowns of the irrigation season.
Winter Hours: October to March (four 10 hour days/ per week)
Mon - Thu 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

Drug testing
Class A CDL required or obtained within 6 months
MUST Live within the south Nampa area
Clean driving record and background check
Able to lift 75 Lbs.
Construction experience is helpful but not necessary
