The Idaho Central Arena Operations Tech / Conversion Lead will assist the Operations Manager in coordinating the activities of workers and ensuring the safe, efficient, and economic function of the facility. To change from event to event it is necessary to have a conversion crew that can move retractable seating, put down decking, remove hockey glass, remove dashers, set up chairs, tables, and other various equipment and activities. You are responsible to learn and practice the proper processes and others and be able to manage temporary labor crews to switch set ups from event to event. This can be a challenging position as the team is often under time constraints at times to convert the arena to another event. Most conversions are over night shifts, so one must be able to work proficiently and effectively overnight. Not all shifts will be overnight shifts, however, availability to work overnight shifts is a requirement of this position. We are a team. Job Description:Operate small tools/equipment, vehicles, Forklift, and the ice resurfacer in a safe and appropriate manner.Perform a wide range of facility based operational activities and maintenance.Perform ice maintenance logs and checks of refrigeration equipment.Perform mechanical and minor maintenance of ice resurfacing equipment, or other parts of the facility or equipment. Perform general maintenance and repair activities on vehicles and equipment including, but not limited to, daily inspections, cleaning, greasing and minor repairs.Assist with the set-up and clean-up of events.Promote and require safe working practices and conduct on-site safety inspections.Maintain effective, professional, courteous, and respectful communications with supervisors, other staff, and the public.Attend and participate in scheduled meetings (departmental or other) and training sessions.Under the direction of the Operations Manager, assist and coordinate the work of conversion crew.Oversee the conversion and changeover of the building from event to event including but not limited to hockey games, basketball, concerts, boxing, graduations, family shows, and press conferences.Aid in selecting, training, motivating, and evaluating staff; provide or coordinate staff trainings.Develop standard changeover procedures and organization of plans and equipment.Preparing and maintaining required reports, records, and any needed certifications.Preparing Changeover summaries for different types of conversions.Manage cost accounting expenses for conversions.Projects as required by the Operations Manager.Maintain optimal working conditions for facility equipment and the building, and provide recommendations regarding such matters to the Operations Manager.Provide input for the administration of contracts for purchasing of supplies, equipment, and services. Control inventory; evaluate material and equipment requirements.Adhere to workplace safety equipment requirements.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. May be required to aid in conversions from event to event or other essential duties to facilitate event operations. This may include cleaning of facilities if required. Graduation from high school or (GED equivalent) and two years of experience in a related position or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing and developing teams.Specific knowledge of portable seating, ice maintenance, hockey glass and boards, portable basketball floor and other associated equipment would help greatly.Must have a continuous drive and passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests, employees, and teams.Demonstrated ability to operate small tools/equipment and light duty vehicles in a proficient manner.Demonstrated carpentry and/or plumbing skills are considered an asset.Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs, push and pull equipment and parts weighing up to 100lbs, independently or assisted; to walk, stand, sit, lift from floor to waist, lift from waist to shoulder, climb stairs, and climb ladders and any other physical ability required to perform assigned duties.Ability to work shift work (days, evenings, nights), overtime, weekends or unscheduled call-ins.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Functional computer skills, including the ability to use an email or web browser application.Ability to effectively navigate guest concerns and the skill to direct their concerns to a member of the appropriate personnel who is best able to respond to the inquiry.Ability to complete various forms and other basic written communications.Ability to receive and comprehend instructions; work in a team environment; interact positively with supervisors, other staff, and the public; as well as support and project values compatible with the organization.Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.PI242910853 Apply
