In this role, you will work with internal customers to create a comprehensive view of supplier performance for sustained sourcing success. You will own the development and implementation of category strategies and projects related but not limited to cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and contract negotiation.In this role, you will engage in supplier benchmarking analysis to develop and implement strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality. Additional responsibilities include negotiating terms, conditions and pricing to leverage spend, leading and participating in department projects, serving as a primary contact for industry and supplier information, and acting as a mentor for other members within the Procurement organization!Responsibilities:Manage Supplier Relationship GloballyAct as primary point of contact for assigned suppliers in categoryPerform commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliersMaintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while efficiently resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic directionEnsure suppliers follow Micron's code-of-conduct programs and corporate social responsibility initiatives.Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization including Executive LeadershipEnlist senior management, when appropriate, to help reinforce dedication and involvement from suppliersProvide the voice of the supply base to Micron and provide the voice of Micron to the supply baseIdentify and Implement Supplier-Related Savings LeversParticipate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal settingCommunicate market intelligence and category price trends to our customers consistentlyApply cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplaceServe as the center of knowledge for assigned category and share knowledge with key partners and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and executionDrive Negotiations with Suppliers for Sustaining PurchasesLead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc.Coordinate with Category Sourcing Manager (where relevant) or lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiationIncorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiationsDevelop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and build, negotiate, supervise and implement contracted terms and conditionsEnsure Supplier Performance ManagementPartner with category team and sites to build comprehensive view of supplier performanceCollect and relay site specific priorities to suppliersOwn and lead overall Strategic Supplier relationships within the assigned categoriesCollaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics for Strategic Suppliers and supervise supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvementLead in coordinating and delivering on strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review MeetingsMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
8 years experience in either Purchasing/Procurement or Supply Chain
Strong interpersonal skills; experience negotiating with suppliers and partners
Ability to navigate a matrixed organization and influence decisions
Proficient in collaborating with a cross-functional, distributed team
Analytic toolset – able to set financial targets and incorporate CoO concepts
Proven leadership skills
Expertise in Discernment, Planning, and Decision Making
Flexible approach to collaborate and complete tasks across different cultures and time zones
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Business Administration/Management, Engineering, or related field of study
Certificate in APICS, PMI, CPM, or CPSM
