The Follow Up Associate II will help investigate claims that are underpaid based on the fee schedules and contract agreements. Everyday you will identify the root cause of underpayment claims, follow up with unresolved accounts, and provide solutions and feedback on where the process went wrong, and keeping staff informed through training. To thrive you must have experience within the healthcare back-end revenue cycle, resolving denied and underpaid claims, and excellent analytical & problem solving skills.Responsibilities:
Investigates and examines source of underpayments/denials utilizing knowledge of fee schedules, contracts, charge master, coding and EDI billing
Reads and interprets expected reimbursement information from a contract management system, EOB's and learns legal parameters pertaining to all State and Federal Laws that pertain to the plan benefits
Works closely with third party payers to resolve underpayments
Identify profile updates needed when a discrepancy between actual and expected payments is identified
Performs duties as given by supervisor to fill in where needed
Maintains and follows all HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
Required Qualifications:
Minimum two years of experience working in the healthcare industry and claims billing
Demonstrated excellent analytical, fact-finding, problems solving and organizational skills as well as the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing with staff, patients, and insurance plan administrators
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team setting
Desired Qualifications:
Experience within the healthcare back-end revenue cycle experience (AR Follow-up and Denials)
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $14.92 - $20.21 per hour .
