Simplot Company is a true farm-to-table company with operations that touch every aspect of agriculture, including seed production, farming and ranching, plant sciences, fertilizer manufacturing, food processing, commercial product development, and distribution.SummaryUnder minimal supervision, this role provides and presents operational and financial guidance, expertise, and recommendations to the Supply Chain management teams for operational decisions, forecasting, and strategic planning. Initially, this role will exclusively support the NA Supply Chain Fleet operations with a focus on improving the accounting processes and ensuring they are in compliance with Global Foods, Corporate and governmental accounting regulations as well as developing financial planning and reporting processes that provide Fleet management with accurate, timely, and meaningful information for operational decisions. Works directly with company management to ensure proper application and interpretation of operational and financial information and special analysis of critical issues. In addition to working directly with the Fleet management team, this role will collaborate with a variety of department heads across the organization including Transportation, Warehousing, Deployment, Raw Procurement and Plant Management. This role may potentially support other areas of the NA Supply Chain as well.Key Responsibilities

Assure compliance with Food Group, Corporate and governmental accounting regulations and policies by developing, directing and implementing programs and systems in accordance with company policies.

Develops and maintains processes and procedures to ensure operational reports, financial reports and other analytical information and systems are accurate, timely and informative.

Works closely with Fleet management in the development of financial budgets and forecasts.

Performs accounting activities, including the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for the Fleet.

Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports.

Examines and reviews unusual cost records and ensures cost data is allocated correctly across multiple systems.

Typical EducationBachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or universityRelevant Experience5+ years related experience and/or trainingRequired CertificationsCPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.Other InformationThis role requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles. Work is varied and complex.
