Recreation and Education Coordinator needed ASAP. This job will be in Payette, ID. This position has a two prong approach to the recreational/educational needs of at-risk youth. Recreational: Asses activity skill of youth, consult with other professionals regarding youth's abilities, plan for developmentally appropriate activities, conduct group programs,, refer youth to appropriate community resources, document activities, coordinate recreation activities with other providers, oversee, in planning and conducting recreational outings, contact local recreation departments and churches to schedule games and activities, ie. racquet ball and pool tournaments/concerts, develop physical fitness activities, ie, painting, ceramics, sewing, knitting and crafts etc.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of major sports/rules/equipment, knowledge of physical fitness/conditioning, knowledge of current first aid practices, experience, getting participants involved in sports/rules/equipment. Educational: Will also be gathering online materials to meet the educational requirements of certain youth. Develop settings to ensure youth are meeting educational goals, providing feedback, reports, and summaries of outcomes. Communicate with schools and agency to help youth's educational goals. Must use personal computer for word processing and spread sheets. Working with at-risk youth in group or educational settings. Researching and developing cirriculum for educational programs.
