Hodge Western Corp. is a growing construction company in the Central Oregon area specializing in large volume, high production rock sawing and utility trenching. Large utility scale solar, water lines, sewer mains and other misc. excavations utilizing specialized excavation and backfill equipment are the focal point of our operation.Job requirementsKnowledge of OSHA and EPA standards with regard to construction. Ability to train, influence and motivate team members. Travel to/from jobsites and company shop.Responsibilities & DutiesEvaluate and assess safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and clients. Prepare and conduct safety training and meetings for employees. Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.) Visit job sites to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials. Lead and track injury and incident inquiries and evaluations. Perform random jobsite safety inspectionsWrite a bi-monthly summary of events on each substantial projectIssue employee write-ups documenting violations of the employee hand book and safety program Document damage to equipment and tools and issue write ups as needed Communication service and repair needs to mechanic Establish and update frequently an inventory of equipment and attachments Confirm all vehicles, light and heavy, have adequate insurance, registration and any necessary permits Confirm light trucks are washed and cleaned every week Ensure heavy trucks interiors are kept clean and exteriors are cleaned as schedule allows Track mileages and compare with fuel usage with eRoad GPS systemQUALIFICATIONS· 1-2 years related experience and/or training related to commercial and or heavy civil construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience· Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen· Must be willing to travel if necessary - per diem and all lodging paid· Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds; frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, etc.ABOUT US:We perform work in numerous market sectors, providing highly productive and safe utility trenching services with specialized equipment.
