DescriptionCorteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity in Waimea, Hawaii, to lead the Core Group for Population Development. The Core Group connects available seed with the execution teams, manages seed inventory, tracks the progress of requests, and selects and prepares project deliverables for shipment. If you understand plant genetics, are skilled with computers, and can manage and manipulate complex databases, this is the job for you. Our group creates new varieties for the breeding pipeline globally and this position has a key role in tracking deliverables, translating strategy into execution, and performing data analysis on performance. You will need a collaborative attitude, good communication and critical thinking skills, and an affinity for creative puzzle solving. This position directly supervises a small team, coordinates activities with other departments or groups, and has a leadership role in the overall management of the Product Development group and the station.Duties and Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

Track the progress of requests through the Doubled Haploid, Single Seed Descent, and Trait Integration processes.

Ensure that databases are up-to-date.

Prepare reports on status of deliverables or experiments.

Manage the receipt, sorting, selection, and inventory of seed and germplasm.

Prepare shipments of project deliverables.

Proactively communicate with team, stakeholders, and internal customers.

Coordinate with other groups to ensure key steps are completed in a collaborative and timely manner.

Promote positive work attitudes and harmonious relations.

Supervise, evaluate, and mentor reports, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with specified research protocols and regulations.

Organize daily activities, including labor.

Design and implement process improvements.

Willing and able to work flexible schedules, holidays, and weekends during peak periods when required.

Support all Hawaii Research Center goals and support other projects when needed.

QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Computer competency: tablets, PCs, Microsoft Office, internal programs, etc.

Comfort with large datasets, and the management and analysis of data.

Knowledge of Mendelian and molecular genetics.

Eager to constantly evaluate, innovate, and improve processes.

Ability to manage people as part of a larger, culturally diverse group, as well as independently when needed.

Organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Tolerance, willingness, and ability to work in warm or cold conditions and variable environments.

Valid driver's license.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, plant breeding, bioinformatics, or related plant-science field.

Four years related experience.

Alternatively, equivalent levels of relevant education and experience.

VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.#LI-AB1Salary RangeThe salary range for this position is $84,020 - $116,040 yearly. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus.
