The Red Cross Job Fair location on left.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): Assistant Director (AD) of Workforce is a leadership position within a disaster operation's structure and serves as the accountable leader for the workforce's care. Oversees the strategic and efficient assignment of workers to meet the mission. Ensures that all responders: receive a warm welcome; have a job to do; receive the needed training; have a supervisor; have a clean and safe place to sleep; and are treated with respect and fairness. This Group/Activity/Position (GAP) qualifies responders for this position on Level 5 and below disaster operations.This position is located in Kahului, HI.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD Key Responsibilities:
Model leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills aligned with the five C's. Ensure all Red Cross Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) workers are held accountable to exhibit the same behaviors both to the clients and their fellow Red Cross workers.
Develop, execute, and monitor performance of the Service Delivery Plan for all Workforce activities, including Staff Planning & Support, Local Community Volunteers, Lodging, Ambassadors, Training, Staff Relations, and Disaster Event Based Volunteers ensuring effective communication and integration at each stage of the operation.
Foster an open relationship with the DRO (Disaster Relief Operation) Leadership team, encouraging the sharing of opinions, feedback, and suggestions to improve operations. Share information from Operations Management meetings with the Workforce team with the goal of all team members feeling informed about the decisions that impact worker assignments and movement.
Anticipate potential issues, engage in thorough planning, and apply strategic thinking to stay ahead in operations. Advocate to ensure equity for all affected communities.
Coach and support managers on the creation and maintenance of a productive work environment, including workforce safety, performance evaluation, recognition, and overall team satisfaction.
Develop and implement Service Delivery Plan. Ensure every worker lodged during the operation has a clean and safe place to sleep. In coordination with the planning team, develop a transition plan, ensuring support of regions in completion of and response to recovery outcomes.
Monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback on all aspects of Workforce utilization and care to other DRO leadership members in a timely manner.
Standard Schedule : This is a temporary assignment expected to last 3 months to one year. Work hours are 12 hours per day 6 days per week.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Management Experience: 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
Travel: A valid Drivers License is required.
Physical requirements may include the ability to sit or stand for long periods and adapt to long, irregular hours, and frequent schedule changes are required.

Proficient in Volunteer Connection, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and RC View.
