The Red Cross Job Fair location on left.WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): The Assistant Director of Information & Planning, a member of the Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) Leadership team, is responsible for supporting and implementing planning processes and programs in support of the Disaster Relief Operation (DRO). Information and Planning implements and executes the planning process to guide DRO service delivery through facilitating the development of DRO priorities & objectives. The I&P AD provides leadership in utilizing planning tools to execute the vision of the DRO Director during each operational period and provides guidance for all members of the leadership team on how to translate ideas into strategies and tactics whenever needed.This position is located in Kahului, HI.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD Key Responsibilities:

Model leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills aligned with the five C's. Ensure all Red Cross Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) workers are held accountable to exhibit the same behaviors both to the clients and their fellow Red Cross workers.

Monitor performance of all I&P activities including Disaster Assessment, Information Dissemination, Financial & Statistical information, Call Center Liaison, and the Situations Unit. Stay in close coordination and collaboration with the AD of Operations to support client-facing activities.

Fosters an open relationship with each DRO I&P team and shares information daily with other section leadership on the status of current objectives and priorities. This is accomplished through the utilization of available tools such as RC View, the Incident Action Plan, Advanced Operational Planning (AOP) and service delivery dashboards.

Anticipate potential issues and utilize planning tools to support operations in establishing effective tactics to accomplish DRO established objectives.

Recognize the success in I&P is driven by the ability to work as a team and guide managers and team members through the implementation of SWARM leadership to leverage individual team members strengthens to accomplish our mission. Provide a unified effort to support each DRO function with a positive and driven attitude to complete the DRO priorities and objectives.

Responsible for actively reviewing and monitoring the service delivery plan to ensure the leadership team has the needed tools to track and provide effective service delivery with a focus of providing equitable resources to all affected communities with emphasis on underserved populations.

Monitor I&P processes from start to end to ensure smooth operation and timely delivery, addressing any problems that may arise. Collaborate with each DRO activity to develop operational plans and provide tools to support each phase of service delivery.

Standard Schedule : This is a temporary assignment expected to last 3 months to one year. Work hours are 12 hours per day 6 days per week.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Management Experience: 3 years of supervisory or management experience.

Travel: A valid Drivers License is required.

Physical requirements may include the ability to sit or stand for long periods and adapt to long, irregular hours, and frequent schedule changes are required.
