H. Pacific Construction LLC is hiring Trade Work Helpers who are flexible, hands-on, and eager to learn as they go. In this role, you’ll work in small crews at residential and commercial properties and gain valuable real-world experience that can jumpstart a career in the trades. SCHEDULING DETAILS
- Term: minimum commitment 3 weeks
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, schedule may vary based on operational needs
- Shifts: minimum 2 days per week
- Pay: $20-$28 per hour, depending on experience
- Job Type: Part-Time Temporary, Part-Time Regular
- Location: in person, job sites vary (primarily out of Honolulu area)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Preparation, Cleanup, and Maintenance
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Transporting materials and tools around the site
- Clearing debris, tools, and materials from work areas
- Setting up and dismantling scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures
- Organizing, storing, and restocking materials, tools, and supplies
- Cleaning, oiling, or maintaining tools and equipment
Assisting Tradespeople
- Handing tools and materials to skilled workers
- Holding or positioning materials in place during installation or repair
- Following directions to perform basic tasks (e.g., measuring, cutting, mixing)
- Supporting specialized work like demolition or concrete mixing
- Performing small repairs under guidance
Operating Tools and Equipment
- Using basic hand tools (hammers, saws, wrenches)
- Operating power tools under supervision (drills, grinders)
Upcoming projects include trade work in the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, demolition, drywall, painting, cabinets, caulking, cleaning, machine operation, and steel work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (must be 18 years or older)
- Able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
- Possess reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Flexible, adaptable, and enjoys a variety of tasks
- Punctual, respectful, and responsible
- Able to listen to and follow instructions
- Able to work neatly and cleanly
- Comfortable working both independently and in small teams
OTHER NOTES
- New hires must have their own pair of steel toe shoes or boots.
- Work shirts, hard hat, safety eyewear, and gloves will be provided by the company.
- This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must currently reside on-island to be considered.
