Seeking Experienced Finish Carpenter

Each Finish Carpenter will be required to implement the following as it pertains to their assigned and overall responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform a variety of finish carpentry tasks; including installation of wood flooring, interior trim, interior and exterior doors, hardware, cabinetry, windows, siding and trim, interior accessories, etc.

Operate a variety of hand and power tools.

Assist other craft workers.

Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.

Handle and store materials appropriately and with care.

Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.

Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring issues to the attention of the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager.

PHYSICAL WORK ACTIVITIES AND EXPOSURE

Carpenters must have good judgment to perform complicated tasks and must be able to work closely with other crafts without constant supervision. Skilled carpenters are constantly alert and observant of their surroundings while always maintaining a safe working environment.

Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme heat, near moving mechanical parts.

Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

The noise level can be loud. Ear protection may be required.

All jobs require hardhats, long pants, proper shoes, and safety glasses.

Walk long distances, sometimes over uneven terrain.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

5 years’ minimum construction experience, with 3 years’ minimum in finish carpentry.

Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.

Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to construction operations.

Working knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work.

Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.

Requires good manual dexterity (hands & arms) and multi-limb coordination.

Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

A willingness to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Ability to read and understand construction documents and details.

Must be a citizen of the US, legal alien, or have a valid work visa.

Must have possession of or ability to obtain: (prior to start of work)

a. A valid state driver’s license with no active violations within the previous three years.

b. Various equipment certifications (when applicable).
