Job Description: We are looking for a problem solver who is self-motivated and has experience in boat mechanics to join our team as a skilled Maintenance Technician III. The Maintenance Technician III will be responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance to ensure our vessels' safe and efficient operation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marine maintenance and repair, including diesel engines, marine control systems, marine plumbing, marine electronics, and fuel systems. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician III should have a background in management and possess strong leadership skills. This position works alongside the maintenance department and oversees the team to maintain a productive and fulfilling workplace while ensuring that company standards and policies are followed.

Responsibilities:

Lead or assist with major and specialized mechanical overhauls, including diesel engines, marine gear, and marine drive trains.

Perform advanced, unsupervised services on inboard diesel marine engines

Lead or assist in diesel marine engine rebuilds.

Independently diagnose, repair, and replace marine plumbing, marine head systems, marine electronics, and fuel systems.

Maintain support equipment such as trailers, trucks, and dock equipment.

Keep vessel topside equipment operationally ready.

Perform basic seamanship skills, including knots, water operations, and boat handling

Responsible for maintaining vessels in top operating condition by constantly improving onboard systems.

Conduct vessel checks before tours to ensure they are safe and operationally ready for trip departure.

Maintain accurate vessel maintenance records.

Assist with general maintenance, projects, and repairs on the vessel, shop, or office.

Requirements:

Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends & holidays.

Ability to work 35-40 hours per week, with overtime approval from the supervisor or manager.

Five years experience in the marine industry is preferred.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with the provision of a driver's abstract for any out-of-state driver's license upon hire.

Proficiency in English, with the ability to effectively communicate and understand verbal and written communications.

Must be continuously contactable and have access to a cell phone.

Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word

Advanced skill set and specialized knowledge of mechanical systems

Diesel mechanic experience is required; Cummins experience is preferred
