Job Posting: Lead Maintenance Technician

Location: Kai Malu at Wailea

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Based on experience

Reports to: Site Manager

About the Role:

Kai Malu at Wailea is seeking a hands-on, skilled Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the overall condition and upkeep of our community’s buildings, common areas, and facilities. This role includes daily, monthly, and preventative maintenance tasks, with a strong emphasis on safety, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general building repairs (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, janitorial).

Respond to maintenance requests for common areas and limited common elements.

Conduct preventative maintenance and monitor mechanical/electrical systems.

Inspect and replace exterior lights, ballasts, and transformers monthly.

Maintain the Hale facility (pool, spa, gym, pavilion, locker rooms).

Maintain parking lot, trash areas, and landscaping features.

Conduct in-unit repairs when the Association is responsible.

Maintain Association tools, golf carts, and maintenance shop.

Clean and organize the Hale facility daily by 7 AM.

Power wash restrooms and deck monthly; inspect pavilion shades.

Regularly inspect and clean lighting, gutters, and building exteriors.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience.

Proficiency in minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders up to 20 feet.

Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Must pass background check and drug screening.

Current or attainable Pool Operator Certification within 90 days.

Must speak, read, and write English fluently.

Friendly, professional, and able to interact with residents and vendors.

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):

Experience reading blueprints and interpreting building codes.

Familiarity with safe work practices and material/labor estimation.
