Engineering Partners is seeking a full time Land Surveyor for our Hilo, Hawaii office. This position performs field and office duties including but not limited to: boundary, topographic, ALTA, land title, construction staking, and lot surveys.
Successful candidate will be fully proficient in both the office and field environment, possess good communication skills, and work well in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of ALTA surveys, subdivision maps, boundary maps, topographic maps, easement maps, land court maps, and other related maps and legal/easement descriptions
- Approves and submits survey documents as required by local, state of federal governments
- Supervises, instructs and mentors survey crew members
- Field investigation and inspections
- Boundary study and mapping for recordation
- Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence and other records to obtain data needed for field surveys and mapping
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional work experience in land survey
- Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) in the State of Hawaii, or eligible to obtain licensure within six (6) months of employment
- Highly experience in the operation of a Traditional Total Station, Robotic Total Station, and GPS equipment
- Knowledge of advanced surveying procedures, terminology and calculations
- Familiarity in programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Survey Pro and other survey related software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral
- Strong independent judgment and ability to utilize critical thinking to resolve problems
- Ability to work in a team environment and oversee support staff
- Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing and able to operate company vehicles
- Willingness to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions
- Physically able to perform all tasks including the ability to lift and carry items of various weights, up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Hawaii State Driver’s License
