TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:
The Head Mechanic repairs and maintains all machinery, equipment, vehicles, and tools used by the golf course maintenance department. The Mechanic also grinds and maintains mower reels. (Training may be available at no cost to employee.) The Head Mechanic must be able to work with budget constraints when ordering parts and supplies to properly maintain and repair all equipment. Your knowledge will be shared with co-workers through training sessions for proper equipment operation and safety. As a mechanic, you will also keep records on equipment maintenance and repairs. This job position works under direct supervision of superintendent.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. The job may also require periodic overtime to complete work tasks. Overtime is compensated at 1-1/2 time the base rate.
WORK CONDITIONS AND SKILLS:
Able to perform work out in the field in all types of weather. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and to follow oral and written instructions. Able to comply with company safety policies and procedures. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Basic knowledge in the use of tools, methods and equipment to repair and maintain all equipment and vehicles used on a golf course. Must have a valid drivers license. Good physical and mental health condition, who with or without reasonable accommodation, can perform the essential functions of the job.
