Responsibilities:
Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on boats and equipment, covering engines, electrical, plumbing, and steering.
Identify and fix issues using diagnostic tools.
Handle major repairs like engine and transmission rebuilds.
Keep detailed records of all tasks and parts used.
Check equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning.
Test repairs with sea trials.
Stay updated on marine tech advancements.
Requirements:
Live on Maui.
High school diploma or equivalent needed; training at a technical school or apprenticeship is a plus.
At least 2 years' experience as a mechanic (experience with cars is fine, but marine experience is preferred).
Understand how gasoline and diesel engines, marine electrical systems, plumbing, and steering systems work.
Good at finding and fixing problems.
Can use various hand and power tools.
Pays attention to details and stays organized.
Can work alone or with a team.
Communicates well and gets along with others.
Have a valid driver's license and a reliable way to get around.
Flexible schedule for any unexpected emergencies.
