JOB TITLE: Automotive Body Technician/ Painter
JOB DESCRIPTION
A body repair technician is able to repair vehicle bodies and straighten vehicle frames.
Painter also prep vehicles for paint, work in production shop.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages
Return the vehicle back to factory specifications
Remove vehicle trim to gain access to vehicle body
Can properly fill depressions with body filler and insure a quality repair
Able to remove damaged parts using power tools and cutting torch
Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power tools and welding equipment
Straighten bent automobile frames using frame wrack
File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
Aim headlights
Replace bolts on panels and align properly
Make cosmetic repairs
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to
original specifications
Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-4 years body shop experience required.
Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.
Excellent problem solving skills required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive tasks; manual dexterity
Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception
Lifting
Medical, dental, vision, prescription paid by company after 30 days. Weekly pay and end of the year bonus ( Based on production ). ASE and ICAR certifications a plus. $23+ flat rate Depending on experience
The ideal candidate will have their own tools and be able to hit the ground running without instruction. The body shop has a large volume of work and you must be willing to work to help get customers back into their vehicles as quickly as possible. Please call Woody 319-1238
