We are seeking a mature salesperson for our downtown Paia based boutique – Da Beehive – located at 16 Baldwin Avenue (next to Maui Girl Swimwear and directly across from Choice).
We are searching for a “busy bee” type of person – an energetic individual with a great work ethic who moves about quickly doing many things at once.
We primarily sell honey, body care & beeswax candles. Much of what is available for sale we make in the shop or on our farm.
The ideal candidate must be a “people person” and able to engage with a ride range of customers. This is NOT a cashier position, you must be able to interact and educate customers in the shop on available products to meet their needs. You must be able to greet every customer who enters shop.
In addition to customer interaction, we keep busy by restocking the shop, packaging products, making small crafts, etc.
We are looking to fulfill two 8-hour shifts per week (11am to 7pm Summer or 10:30am to 6:30pm Winter).
Starting Hourly Pay Range
$14 base pay + commission (minimum $18/hour average to $22+ per hour average)
Evaluation and potential raise after 12 shifts.
A regularly scheduled position to start August 1st with the potential for shifts prior depending on availability.
This is not a short term or seasonal opportunity, hiring is based on potential for a longer term commitment (6+ months).
Candidate requirements:
Must have previous retail, sales, or similar (not just cashier) experience.
Must able to accurately count cash and do simple mathematical calculations.
Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
Must be concerned for customer experience and create a welcoming vibe in shop.
Must be able to multi-task, moving between shop restocking and customers with ease.
Must be a good listener and able to comprehend direction within 1 or 2 explanations.
Must be able to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Must be able to be productive without supervision.
Must be able to take constructive feedback and adjust behavior and procedures accordingly.
Phone use / scrolling / games / videos NOT permitted during shift.
