Essential Functions:
This position reports to the supervisor, Safety & Security and is responsible for performing guard and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, fire, flood or similar disaster and for providing transportation services, in compliance with government and management directives.
Duties to include, but not limited to:
1. Secure building and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks and maintain log of findings.
2. Perform parking and traffic control duties. Check identification of visitors according to established policies and procedures.
3. Perform routine vehicle equipment inspection.
4. Assist in transporting trainees as required.
5. Provide general transportation services as necessary.
6. Set up and check operation of intrusion alarm systems in buildings as required.
7. Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances and conducting preliminary investigations
Security Officer Rate: $17.59/hour + Full Benefits
Education and Experience:
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and two years related experience required. State security guard certification or ability to obtain within 90 days is also required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
