P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc. is seeking a Therapist for an Intensive Home Based Services (IHBS) program to work part-time (approximately 20 hours a week) with flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. The IHBS program is to provide services to families whose children are at imminent risk of placement or who are in placement and cannot be reunified without intensive in-home services. Service delivery must be consistent with the therapist components in the Homebuilders standards, including crisis intervention, counseling, skill building, concrete services, and advocacy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide services primarily in client homes. Travel to client homes and other locations. Schedule sessions at times that are convenient for families and when problems are likely to occur, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must maintain a flexible workweek. Must be available to accept referrals 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Must schedule and complete client intake sessions within 24 hours of referral. Must be available to families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Typically serve 9 to 12 families per year, working with 1 to 2 families at a time. Provide 40 or more hours of face-to-face contact per family, over a 4-6 week period. Conduct comprehensive, strength-focused assessment process; collaborate with family members and referents in developing intervention goals and service plans. Utilize a variety of teaching methods. Advocate for and provide concrete goods and services (including transportation) that are directly related to the family's goals, while teaching family members to meet these needs on their own. Collaborate and advocate with formal and informal community resources and systems, while teaching family members to advocate for themselves.

All applicants must be responsible, organized, able to meet deadlines, and trustworthy. Must positively interface with all clients, co-workers and colleagues. Must represent PARENTS, Inc. and its management in a professional manner, maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times. Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision. Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements: Master's degree social work, psychology, counseling, or closely related field, or a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or closely related field, from an accredited institution, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children and families.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to travel frequently to all areas of East Hawaii. Must own motor vehicle that can hold car seats and children. Must retain appropriate levels of insurance as mandated by company policy.
