Position Title: Independent Living Specialist

Independent Living Specialist position full - time avail on the Big Island.
This is a 40 hrs./week position for East Hawaii. Non-profit human service agency. Responsible for information & referral, peer counseling, independent living skills training, advocacy, transition services and coordination with other community service agencies. Min. req. BA in Human Services(will also consider two years of documented experience), and knowledge of community resources. Strong skills required in oral and written communication, must be computer literate, organized and have the ability to work independently. Must have reliable transportation to work with consumers in the community including travel to West Hawaii as needed. Must have personal experience with various disabilities. Knowledge of ASL is a plus.
COMPENSATION
16.00/hr. Paid vacation and sick leave, paid State and Federal holidays, paid medical, dental, prescription, vision, chiropractor, massage, acupuncture and mileage reimbursement.
