Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost, time, labor, material, and equipment required to secure new contracts. You will ensure profitability and contribute to the sustained success of the organization by preparing comprehensive estimates and proposals that align with customer needs and market demands.

Key Responsibilities

Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate requirements.

Attend pre-bid meetings and collaborate with stakeholders.

Perform and oversee quantity takeoffs to ensure scope coverage and accuracy.

Develop detailed proposals, including inclusions, clarifications, qualifications, and exclusions.

Solicit, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.

Analyze design options and recommend cost-effective solutions.

Leverage historical cost data and productivity reports to improve estimate accuracy.

Track awarded contracts, including change orders, extra work, and procurement.

Utilize estimating software and tools for accurate bid compilation.

Maintain and organize supporting documentation for all estimates.

Collaborate with contract administrators to ensure compliance with bidding processes.

Integrate company safety standards and practices into all estimates.

Coordinate seamless handoffs of awarded projects to Project Managers.

Support other departments with estimating tasks as needed.

Required Skills & Abilities

Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask under tight deadlines.

High level of accuracy with strong quality control skills for own and team’s work.

Advanced math and computer proficiency.

Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.

Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Qualifications

Minimum 5–7 years of estimating experience in the construction industry.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of public agency bidding processes is a plus.
