General Summary:

The Pallet Repair person is responsible for repairing CHEP pallets that are in need of repair and delivering them to and from the repair platform in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity while adhering to CHEP's quality criteria.The Pallet Repair person is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all pallets repaired.Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

Pallet Repair

oSafely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards.

oManually lift 70 lb. pallets from a stack to a repair table.

oOperate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets.

oOperate a hammer, grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and finally, using a 2lb nail gun to nail together the components.

oPallet must meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit.

Safety, Sanitation, Security

oMaintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

oAssist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

oConduct operations in a manner which promotes safety.

oComply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.

oMust wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Comprehendbasic math.

Abilityto operate power tools in a safe manner.

Mustbe able to follow repair process.

Physical Requirements

Mustbe able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a

frequent basis.

Mustbe able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.

Capableof standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hoursstraight, four times in an 8 hour day).

Ableto use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.

Carpentry or construction background is helpful, butnot required.
