Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI), Department of Urban and Regional Planning, National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC), located at Ford Island in in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $2,914 - $4,000/Mon.

DUTIES: Prepares and finalizes course delivery outreach materials (e.g., flyers, email, letters, social media, etc.) for dissemination to external agencies. Performs outreach activities, as necessary, to promote NDPTC courses, to ensure successful course deliveries, and to obtain feedback regarding deliveries and potential courses for the future. Conducts level 3 surveys to collect information on impacts and effectiveness of NDPTC training. Enters, scans and uploads documents related to course deliveries into one or more of NDPTC’s internal data systems including the Data Management System (Moi) and Instructor Development and Tracking System (Makua), monitors statuses, and updates records as necessary. Assists in providing logistical support for NDPTC events including seminars, workshops, and conferences. Participates in NDPTC relevant research, collaboration, education, and outreach activities. May require travel to conferences, workshops, meetings, and off-site training locations. Must be able to perform work on some evenings and weekends.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION Associate’s Degree from an accredited community college (High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and at least two (2) years of administrative work experience may substitute for an Associate’s Degree).

EXPERIENCE One to three (1-3) years of experience involving outreach, marketing, or providing general administrative support. Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

KNOWLEDGE Working knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) course delivery process, knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of accounts management, personnel management, or general office administration. Knowledge of and proficient in the use of word-processing, spreadsheet, database software, presentation software, and use of the internet.

ABILITIES & SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to create and maintain electronic spreadsheets. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relationships in a positive, service-oriented manner with colleagues, internal and external clients, organizations, vendors, groups, and project staff. Ability to work in a team environment under minimal supervision. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must possess organizational skills and be detail oriented. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or FEMA, training programs, or other programs related to emergency management.
