Well established law firm looking for a self motivated individual to fill our Legal Assistant position. Possible duties are listed as below but are not limited to:
-Assist attorneys and paralegals in compiling of court and conveyance documents needed to go out for recording or filing at the court
-Final review of details for letters and correspondences prepared and signed by the Attorney or Paralegal to go out to clients
-Preparation of mail out of letters and correspondences filed at the court
-Assist in answering phone calls and directing them to the case manager of the account
-Organize and track files from case documents and make them available and easily accessible to attorneys.
-Minor drafting of correspondences such as transmittals and cover sheets for recording
-Double checking of calendaring of all deadlines and hearings for correspondences
-Prepares closed files for storage or for transmittal to new counsel
-Monitors and replenishes office and kitchen supplies, including special orders as requested
-Manages file submission, retrieval, destruction at outside storage facilities
-Manages firm library, including indexing and updating and filing and archiving
-Provides phone reception service as scheduled
-Enters postage and copy costs in amicus
-Assists with entering copy costs in QuickBooks
-Provides back up for Documents Clerk/Legal Assistant 1 as outlined in that job description
-Assists with firm seminars as assigned
-Assists with client recognition program as assigned
-Assists with office meetings as assigned (ordering meals, etc.)
-Handles other tasks and special projects as assigned'
