Large Condominium in Downtown Honolulu seeking a hardworking utility/maintenance person for immediate hire.

This is a full-time temporary position with potential for permanent employment.

WORK SCHEDULE

7:00AM to 3:30PM Daily

Candidate must be able to work on weekends & holidays.

Starting wage: $20.23 Per Hour.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO;

Assist in building maintenance, monitoring equipment for proper operation, cleaning and preventive maintenance procedures.

Maintaining the swimming pool and other water features (testing and balancing pool chemicals, vacuuming, removing foliage, etc.). Leak detection.

Keeping up the appearance of the buildings, walkways, lobby, parking lots, and other common areas.

Assists with preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis.

Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.

Must be able to maintain and execute all functions according to current policies and procedures, safety requirements, and best practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

At least 2 years of proven Building Maintenance (or similar) experience preferred.

Driver’s License

Must be able to operate forklift, street sweeper and other similar equipment.

Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Clearly speak, read, write, and understand the English language.

Ability to understand, remember and follow instructions and policies

Excellent people skills, team player

Good attendance record

Desire and ability to learn quickly

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is resourceful, a problem solver, organized, and able to track and complete assignments on a timely basis.

Having reliable transportation.

Experience with safety procedures concerning the use of common hand tools and power tools.

Ability to organize & prioritize duties & tasks.

Strong communication skills.

A “CAN DO” attitude, be self-motivated, stay on task, and follow through with completion of projects.

Capacity to work productively, independently, and with limited supervision.

Can handle constructive criticism and always strives to meet objective or level of completion required.

Possess a positive attitude, accountability, and willingness to address residents in a courteous and respectful manner.

Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools such as (but not necessarily limited to) shovel, grinder, sander, drill, chop saw, circular saw, etc

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening test with the possibility of random drug screening throughout the duration of employment.
