Kina 'Ole Sustainable Land Use LLC is a small business based on Maui. Our mission is to improve Maui's sustainability by encouraging the use of Native Hawaiian plants, edible food systems and organic horticulture.

We are currently seeking a motivated individual who is willing to learn, contribute and add value to our team!

Duties:

- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging lawns

- Prune trees and shrubs to maintain their health and appearance

- Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants

- Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees according to landscape plans

- Apply fertilizers as needed to maintain plant health

- Operate power tools and equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers

- Dig trenches and install landscape features such as pathways or retaining walls

- Clean and maintain tools and equipment after use

Qualifications

- Previous experience in landscape maintenance or related field

- Knowledge of irrigation systems and ability to troubleshoot issues

- Familiarity with tree trimming techniques and safe operation of equipment

- Basic mechanical knowledge for maintenance of power tools and equipment

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as lifting heavy objects or digging

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

- Good communication skills to work effectively with team members

Work includes everything from the ground up in a new landscape construction, to the ongoing maintenance and caring for young and older more established landscapes and ecosystems.

Love of working outdoors, diversity of tasks and ambition to learn and understand more about the natural world around us and how to work best with it are all a big part of what we do.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.50 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)

Must be willing to commute to properties on the north shore, upcountry, and central valley locations as well as occasionally to other parts of the island.
