Skilled Labor – Kailua

Type: Full-time | Temp-to-Hire

Starting Pay: $26/hr.PAID WEEKLY

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm or 8:00am to 4:00pm

Location: Kailua, HI

Department: Maintenance/Service

Reports To: Lead Technician or Service Manager

Job Summary:

The Skilled Labor will be responsible for assisting with the cleaning, maintenance, minor repairs, and installation of air conditioning systems, including mini split and small commercial units. This position is ideal for individuals starting their career in the HVAC industry, providing on-the-job training and opportunities for skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Maintenance:

- Perform routine cleaning of air conditioning units, including filters, coils, and blower wheels.

- Assist with the deep cleaning of mini split systems, including safely removing and cleaning blower wheels and other components.

- Use appropriate cleaning agents and follow safety protocols.

Assisting with Installation:

- Support senior technicians during the installation of air conditioning units, including mini splits and small commercial systems.

- Assist in the placement and mounting of units, running refrigerant lines, and connecting electrical components under supervision.

- Help with the setup and testing of newly installed units to ensure they operate correctly.

Assisting Senior Technicians:

- Support senior technicians in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning units.

- Assist in diagnosing minor issues and perform basic repairs under supervision.

Safety and Compliance:

- Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of protective equipment and proper handling of tools and chemicals.

- Ensure compliance with company standards and local regulations during all tasks.

- The company will pay for online classes and testing to obtain an EPA 608 license.

Inventory Management:

- Help maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and replacement parts.

- Assist in loading and organizing the service vehicle with necessary tools and materials.

Customer Interaction:

- Interact professionally with customers when on-site, providing clear communication and maintaining a clean work area.

- Respond to customer inquiries or direct them to a senior technician or service manager as needed.

Training and Development:

- Participate in ongoing training to develop technical skills and knowledge of HVAC systems.

- Stay updated on the latest industry standards and practices.

Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

- Driver's license with relatively clean driving history

Experience:

- No prior HVAC experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn and develop skills is required.

Skills:

- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools.

- Good communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Comfortable working on ladders and in confined spaces.

- Capable of working in varying weather conditions.
