Island Recycling, Inc. is looking for a highly effective and efficient individual to supervise all aspects of production and related departments at the facility to include shipping & receiving, operations, quality and maintenance.
The principle function of this position is to assist the Operations Manager in the management, supervision and execution of all operations;provides direction to recycling center staff to ensure that all tasks are performed;provides operational support and coordination throughout the recycling center and with our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish group and individual accountabilities within departments for efficient operation and cost improvements
Improve quality results by studying, evaluating and re-designing processes; analyzes and interprets results, recommends appropriate corrective actions, communicates results and follows up on issues or concerns until completion
Determine staffing levels to maximize manpower. Conduct training of employees as needed. Ensure Company policies and procedures are followed.
Plan and schedule operations by collecting relevant information;identify short-term and long-term goals;communicate target goals to department supervisors and monitor the end results
Ensure the Company is in compliance with OSHA and other environmental organizations
Work with onsite mechanics to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs;make sure it happens
Oversee safety of all operations and employees
Monitor costs of daily operations; ie: parts, supplies and miscellaneous items
Meet regularly with Company's President and senior management to make sure the Company's objectives are being met
REQUIREMENTS:
3-5 years recycling experience
Read, write and speak English
2 years minimum Supervisory experience
Distinguishes different types of recyclables (ie. ferrous and nonferrous metals)
Experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of heavy equipment
Ability to communicate clearly and competently with others
Ability to work flexible schedule (willing to work different shifts and weekends)
Hard worker, dependable, safety conscious, individual with a strong work ethic
Self-starter requiring little to no supervision
Strong math and problem solving skills
Basic computer skills
Able to lift 30 lbs
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
Pre-employment drug test mandatory
