Heart & Soil is a new, budding tree planting and nursery business sowing the seeds of sustainability, food sovereignty, and community connection. This isn’t just a job-This is a movement. Founded on a shared love for the earth and a DIY spirit, this is a passion project growing roots in Haiku, Maui. Cultivating a greener future, and empowering our community to sustain a healthier relationship with our food, soil, and resources—starting right here, right now. As a small but mighty operation, we’re building this venture from the ground up, and we need someone who’s excited to roll up their sleeves and grow with us. We’re Looking For Someone Who:
✅ Loves plants as family (fruit trees, ornamentals, shrubs, veggies, endemics-you name it!).
✅ Believes in sustainable practices and closing the loop (compost kings and queens, this is your jam!).
✅ Cares deeply about food resource sovereignty and empowering communities to grow their own food.
✅ Enjoys working outdoors, getting hands dirty, and inspiring others to join the green revolution.
✅ Thrives in teamwork and building relationships with customers, volunteers, and partners.
Your Role:
Propagating, grafting and nurturing nursery stock
All aspects of orchard care
Implementing and repairing irrigation systems
Leading volunteers on various projects
Garden and Tree installation on and off site
Operating the farmers market booth
You’ll Shine If You Have:
A can do, service oriented attitude
Experience in grafting, gardening, irrigation, orchard care and nursery work (formal or informal!).
Basic knowledge of organic, permaculture, and/or regenerative agriculture practices.
Stamina for outdoor work in all weather (sunhats and rain boots welcome!).
Familiarity with native plants and edible landscapes.
Composting and vermiculture expertise.
