Materials Technician

Type of position: Temporary, 8 months through 12/31/24; with the possibility of extension

Schedule: M-F 7:30am-4:00pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch

Worksite location: Kapolei

Payrate: $27/hr.

Position Summary:

The Materials Technician will be responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming materials, picking, and filling orders from stock, managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. The ideal candidate must be able to operate warehouse equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks safely and efficiently. Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Job Duties:

- Accept, inspect, verify, and receive incoming materials, tools, and equipment. As listed on Purchase orders.

- Confirm CLLT requirements are met for all valves and seals according to the AML spec for Hydrocarbon application.

- Confirm receipt of MTR as required for all SS and precious metals.

- Pick and fill orders from stock, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

- SAP system entry issue and physically issue materials to requestors, Internal customers.

- Prepare orders for shipments by packaging and labeling materials appropriately.

- Maintain inventory controls by keeping accurate records of stock and non-stock materials conducting regular inventory counts.

- Organize and maintain warehouse space, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.

- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, stock lift and hand trucks safely and efficiently.

- Help resolve invoice payment issue by reconciling quantity good received and quantity on invoice.

- Assist in loading and unloading of delivery trucks as needed.

- Cooperate with other departments in a professional manner to ensure smooth flow of materials.

- Compares identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order, counts items for verification, and indicates any discrepancies.

- Verify issued tools are returned by end of day.

- Inspect and identifies equipment repair or replacement; adjustments to tools and equipment; ensures equipment; maintains recordkeeping of tools and equipment maintenance.

- Use tools, such as hammers and crowbars, to remove strapping and to open and reseal crates for stock or shipping.

- Building heavy duty pallets as needed for warehouse storage.

- Inspect materials for defects and damages.

- Support warehouse 5s program.

- Support chemical and additive management.

- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehouse procedures.

- Identify repairable stock items to maintain actuate levels.

- Manage repaired equipment.

- Coordinate with refinery SMEs to identify and deposition of dormant materials.

- Conduct stock parameter review to assess MRP parameters such as min and max levels, safety stock, material type, material group, MRP type, etc. and update MRP parameters appropriately.

- Perform inventory cycle count as required and adjust SAP inventory per count to facilitate inventory accuracy.

- Coordinate equipment rental.

- Become Forklift certified once in-house training completed

- Follow all company policy and procedure regarding safety and security.

- Maintain and follow OSHA standards as required.

- Other duties as required.

Requirement and Skills:

- Proven warehouse experience.

- Basic computer skills and familiarity with SAP.

- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

- Adequate knowledge of warehouse data system (SAP).

- Team player with organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to move or lift heavier products (up to 50 pounds) regularly.

- Ability to maintain forklift certification.

- Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime if required.

- Valid driver’s license required.

- Ability to wear personal protective equipment.

- High school diploma
