Niolopua Sleep Center
Work under the general supervision of the Medical Director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. Duties include polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care, and education.
Reports: Reports directly to the Medical Director or Chief Operations Coordinator (COO) of Sleep. Lead Sleep Technologist provides technical direction.
Education: High school diploma and successful completion of an accredited polysomnography program or respiratory therapy program of no less than one (1) year in duration associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility. COO may accept equivalent experience in lieu of education on a 1:1 basis if accompanied by documented proficiency in all competencies required of a polysomnographic technician. Experience credited in lieu of education will not be applied toward the minimum education requirement.
Required Experience: One (1) year of experience as a polysomnographic technician.
Required Certification/License/Registry: Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) credential from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with Sleep Disorder Specialist (RRT-SDS) designation from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certifications.
