One Kalakaua Senior Living Association is seeking for a couple of qualified Registered Nurses for a Part-Time & Full-Time Nurse position for home care in an assisted living/retirement community. Duties for Staff Nurse include emergency response, clinical care management, assessments and some medication/treatment administration.

SCHEDULE: 7:30AM - 4PM; 9:30AM - 6PM (8 hour shifts).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Current RN license registered in the State of Hawaii. Must be CPR, First Aid certified and able to obtain 2-Step TB clearance. New Grads are welcome! Preferred to have minimum of 2 years' paid work experience with the geriatric population or home health experience.

SKILLS: Must have good assessment and documentation skills and demonstrate understanding, patience, tact and courtesy in dealing with elderly residents, family, visitors and co-workers. Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and to coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care. Ability to recognize and solve problems and make appropriate decisions. Demonstrates proper nursing skills/techniques and infection control measures.

REASONING ABILITY: Normal mental and visual attention-to-detail abilities are required. Defines problems, collects data, asks pertinent questions, and establishes facts. Interprets a variety of information from disperse sources to effectively explain situations. Uses sound judgment and meets deadlines on own accord. Must analyze circumstances and facts in order to decide on methods and techniques required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demands require mobility about the unit with direct resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching. Must be able to lift and transfer residents from bed to chair, chair to chair on an occasional basis. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Manual coordination is required to operate computer. Continuous visual attention to detail required. Sitting 50% of the time.
