Are you looking for a new job with a great team! Maui Urology is hiring a medical scribe! The ideal candidate would have previous experience in healthcare. We are considering candidates without any experience. Candidates must be reliable and have a pleasant demeanor. This position is often sought out by those interested in learning in-depth about medicine before applying to nursing, physician assistant or medical school.
Essential Functions:
· Greets patients with a warm and inviting demeanor.
· Accompany physician during office visits and minor procedures
· Transcribe medical notes
· Learn and become efficient with the use of our EHR (Electronic Health Records) system
· Learn to and become efficient in ordering labs, imaging, medications, follow-ups
· Answer phone and direct to appropriate person or take care of call if appropriate.
· Collaborate with providers and other staff as appropriate.
· Assist in managing the fax inbox.
· Performs similar and incidental duties as assigned.
Experience:
· Associate’s Degree or higher preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
· Education or training in healthcare or sciences is preferred.
· Knowledge of medical office operations
· Understanding of an EMR (electronic medical records system) preferably eClinicalWorks
Other Required Experience
· Ability to use standard business equipment such as phone, fax, computer, photocopier, etc.
· Ability to interface with people using tact and diplomacy.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
· Ability to type and enter data at a moderate pace
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Excellent organization and detail-oriented skills.
· Excellent problem solving skills.
· Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent telephone etiquette.

Job Type: Full-time; Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, sometimes 5:30 due to clinic delays
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
