MEDICAL ASSISTANT
FT/PT
Busy healthcare clinic in Kakaako is seeking a Medical Assistant.
REQUIRED:
Must have State of Hawaii Medical Assistant Certification
o Medical Assistant Certification and competency in all related
skills
o Positive attitude and ability to work well as a member of a team
o Excellent customer service and ability to multi-task
Experience preferred.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
1. Procedures; setting up, assisting, performing:
a. ear flushes
b. drawing up TPI
c. assisting during colpo's, pap's, IUD insertion
d. accu checks for DM patients
e. immunizations
f. pregnancy tests
g. urinalysis
h. eye exams
i. wound care; cleaning, dressing
j. rapid flu and strep tests
k. suture/staple removal
2. Calling in medications to pharmacy and dispensing medications in
clinic
3. Balance daily deposit/cash box and close out credit card batch
4. Answering multi-line phones and scheduling appointments for a variety of disciplines.
5. Verifying insurance and collecting co-payments
6. Sending interoffice and outside referrals
7. Scheduling radiology appointments
8. Taking care of patient requests (copies of medical records,
letter of disability, copies of labs, etc)
9. Checking in patients for medical visits CC, vitals, make sure
labs and radiology are ready for review)
EPIC EMR experience a plus
HOURS:
40 hours a week for FT and flexible for PT
