Overview:

Prism Behavioral Health, a busy private practice located in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, is looking for a part-time or full-time psychotherapist to join our growing practice as an independent contractor. We welcome both fully licensed clinicians and pre-licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Clinical Psychologists (PsyD) seeking clinical supervision. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing therapy services for children, adolescents, and adults in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Highly flexible scheduling/make your own schedule including unlimited time off

Clinical supervision for pre-licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Clinical Psychologists (PsyD) to support licensure requirements and professional growth

Full administrative support including:

o In house medical billing, including coordination of client benefits and eligibility plus all insurance claim filing and co-pay collection

o Completion of all insurance credentialing applications and related paperwork

o Receptionist to answer phone calls, schedule intake appointments and provide administrative and marketing support

Comprehensive, HIPAA compliant client management and electronic medical record software and communication systems

Consultations and coaching with our experienced Clinical Director

Comfortable, well-equipped, private office space located in central Kihei

Requirements:

Current State of Hawaii license as a PsyD, PhD, LCSW, LMHC or LMFT

o OR license-eligible in the State of Hawaii

o Pre-licensed LMHCs and PsyDs eligible for supervision are also encouraged to apply

Prior clinical experience in a private practice preferred

Willing to work 10 clinical hours per week or more

Have at least one preferred niche market for counseling services (i.e., couples, children, teens, trauma, anxiety, grief, anger management, etc.)

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Excellent communication and collaboration skills and willingness to work closely with the clinical team

Strong skills in a variety of therapy techniques such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or mindfulness

Uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional care

Compassionate, client-centered approach to therapy

Ability to think critically to analyze client situations, identify issues and develop appropriate treatment plans

Cultural competence – understand and respect cultural differences and tailor therapy to meet the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.

Be organized, detail oriented and have efficient time management skills to work independently, effectively manage appointments and balance a caseload of clients.

Responsibilities:

Provide individual, couples or family therapy to a well-rounded population of diverse clientele with a wide range of presenting concerns

Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Participate in periodic team meetings and case consultations as needed (including supervision sessions for pre-licensed LMHCs and PsyDs, as applicable).
