Job Description:
As a Dental Hygienist, you'll play a pivotal role in our dental practice by conducting initial patient screenings, administering professional teeth cleaning services (including plaque removal), and imparting guidance on oral health and preventive care. Your expertise will aid dentists in diagnosing and treating various dental conditions, such as gum diseases, caries, and periodontitis. Additionally, you'll manage dental emergencies, ensure patient comfort during examinations, and educate patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene techniques.
Responsibilities:
-Foster a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for patients before their examinations.
-Ensure meticulous sterilization and upkeep of dental instruments.
-Conduct comprehensive mouth screenings and review patients' oral health history.
-Accurately diagnose and assess conditions like gingivitis, caries, and periodontitis.
-Skillfully perform teeth cleaning and protection procedures, including plaque removal and fluoride application.
-Provide hands-on demonstrations of effective brushing techniques and oral care practices.
-Offer clear post-operative instructions following dental procedures.
-Proficiently capture digital X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
-Collaborate closely with dentists to determine appropriate treatments, including those for oral cancer.
-Maintain precise documentation and charts for each patient.
-Monitor and manage dental supplies to ensure smooth operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Proficiency in utilizing dental software.
-Demonstrated experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar capacity.
-Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
-Familiarity with dental equipment preparation and maintenance.
-Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients and team members.
